The Interlachen Modern Lakehouse designed by Tays & Co Design Studio features an extensive use of Wildflower Orchard Limestone alongside warm wood tones and natural textures to create spaces that feel settled, cohesive, and deeply connected to their surroundings. The most compelling spaces aren’t built on contrast alone, but on balance, material harmony, and restraint.
In the desert, restraint is its own kind of statement. Designed by Woodley Architectural Group for Davidson Communities, Mesa Modern draws on the discipline of mid-century architecture — ashlar stone laid with intention, its irregular edges and sun-bleached surfaces reading as something found rather than built. The Solterra palette moves through creamy whites, rusty gold, and weathered driftwood, colors borrowed from the landscape and returned to it, grounding the home in Palm Springs without ever announcing itself too loudly.

Featuring extensive use of Creative Mines Greypearl Orchard Limestone with a heavy overgrout technique, the home evokes old-world craftsmanship with a modern sensibility.

Set against 220 acres of untamed parkland, this vibrant community blends residential and commercial architecture with outdoor recreation — from kayaking and rock climbing to mountain biking and beyond. This Scandinavian-inspired home was crafted through the vision of the homeowner and Workaday Architects. Locally sourced cedar—some finished with the Shou Sugi Ban technique—sets a warm, organic tone, while the use of Creative Mines Loft Paintgrade Brick introduces a refined, modern counterpoint. The juxtaposition of tactile cedar and smooth brick defines the home’s character: natural yet disciplined, bold yet serene. Located just minutes from downtown Whitefish.
